CIS Chambers of Commerce and Industry Discuss Development of E-commerce

The participants spoke in favor of further interaction in deepening trade and economic ties and supporting entrepreneurship in the CIS region.

A video conference meeting, organized by the Council of Heads of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, was held on Wednesday. The meeting participants paid special attention to the digitalization of business processes and the development of e-commerce in order to actively promote the products of entrepreneurs to foreign markets.

The video conference meeting titled "Conditions for the improvement and development of business" brought together leaders and representatives of national chambers of commerce, industry and regional chambers, business structures and organizations from Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Belarus, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) reports.

Opening the meeting, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Dovletgeldy Rejepov and Deputy Chairman of the Council of Heads of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the CIS countries, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan Odil Sangov stressed the importance of the community of CCIs in the development of economic, scientific, technical and investment ties among CIS countries.

The agenda of the conference included issues related to the activities of CCIs to stimulate and support private sector, its digitalization, enhancing interaction between chambers, specialized state institutions and public organizations in the field of trade and economic relations and investment cooperation, increasing the export potential of entrepreneurs.

The Council of Heads of CIS Chambers of Commerce and Industry was formed in November 2002 with the aim of promoting cooperation, enhancing the role of the CCIs of the CIS Member States in matters of joint innovation development, support and development of small and medium-sized businesses, expanding interregional and cross-border cooperation, development mechanisms of public-private partnership and training of specialists for businesses.
