Turkmen and the U.S. officials considered the possibilities of expanding the partnership.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov on Friday held an online meeting with Executive Director of the Turkmenistan-USA Business Council Eric Stewart and US Ambassador to Turkmenistan Matthew Klimov. The agenda of the talks included discussions on current and promising joint projects in areas of mutual interest.
The online meeting was also attended by the heads and representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, the Türkmenhowaýollary (Turkmen Airlines) Agency and the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan, and representatives of leading American companies, including S2 Global/Rapiscan, Visa, Westport Trading Ltd. and Boeing, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan said in its press release.
The top Turkmen diplomat reaffirmed the commitment of the government of Turkmenistan to deepen trade-economic cooperation with the U.S., where the investment, technological and financial spheres hold special place.
The Turkmen side expressed interest in the development of trade and investment ties in industry, oil refining, transport, agriculture and water management.
The sides additionally considered the possibilities of expanding the partnership and stressed the importance of holding regular meetings at the level of specialists.
Diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Turkmenistan were established on February 19, 1992.
