The specialists installed 876 transmission towers on time and installed wires along the 260-kilometer power transmission line.

A 220-kilovolt power transmission line to the Turkmen-Afghan border, from Mary State Power Plant in Turkmenistan’s Mary city to Afghanistan’s city of Herat, is ready for commissioning, the Turkmen official media reported on Monday.

The Turkish company Çalik Enerji is reportedly the investor and general contractor of the 260-kilometer power transmission line. The company’s specialists installed 876 transmission towers on time and installed wires along the entire route. The engineers also completed the expansion of the open switchgear at the Mary power plant.

The only remaining unfinished construction facility of the power transmission line is a 220/110/10 kilovolts transformer substation in the city of Serhetabad in Mary velayat. The facility’s construction will be completed according to the schedule by the end of this month.

The power transmission line from Mary State Power Plant to Herat city is one of the stages of the construction a Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan high-voltage power transmission line. The power transmission line is expected to be commissioned in August this year.
