The representative office of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Turkmenistan will hold an online conference titled "Promoting greenhouse technologies in Turkmenistan" on May 31 this year, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) announced on its website on Tuesday.

The event is reportedly organized with the support of the European Union and is aimed at supporting industry projects.

The conference will include consultations for Turkmen small businesses. International experts in the agribusiness sector will share information about the operation of innovative greenhouses for the production of vegetables and berry crops.

A presentation on achievements of entrepreneurs in the field of greenhouse farming in Turkmenistan over the past 5 years, held by the head of the agricultural department of the UIET, is also planned during the event.

One of the key strategic priorities of the EBRD in Turkmenistan is to support private sector development. Since the beginning of the EBRD's operations in the country, the bank has signed 80 projects with a total aggregate volume of banking investments of €292 million.
