The Türkmen-Galkan shoe factory in Turkmenistan’s Ahal velayat produced 9,180,741 manats worth of products in January-March 2021, achieving the growth rate of 138%.
The company is one of the leading footwear producers in Turkmenistan, the country’s official media reports, adding that the company’s use of environmentally friendly raw materials in production has a positive effect on the quality of its footwear products.
The company's footwear products are in high demand in the domestic market, according to the report.
Founded in 1997, the Türkmen-Galkan company in 2020 began the production of such types of footwear as moccasins, boots, and children's shoes.
A sectoral comprehensive program of production and technical re-equipment of textile enterprises and the creation of innovative industries based on local natural resources has been developed in order to implement the tasks set by the President of Turkmenistan. Until 2025, it is planned to allocate more than $300 million for the implementation of more than 30 projects in the textile industry.
