Exhibition Dedicated to UIET’s 13th Anniversary, Ashgabat, Turkmenistan
About sixty participants from countries such as Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Togo, Pakistan, Burkina Faso and Malaysia took part in the online seminar on protection of competition held on Tuesday.
The seminar focused on the regulatory role of the competition authorities in the prevention of cartelization and monopolization, as well as in the protection of consumer rights through monitoring and supervision of markets to create a system of healthy competition.
The chief specialist of the Economics Department of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) Batyr Kajarov also took part in the seminar, the Union said in its press release.
The online seminar was organized as part of the Competition Authorities Capacity Building Program (CA-CaB) of the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) in cooperation with the Turkish Competition Authority
The event aimed at studying competition law and policy, as well as the experience of using effective competition systems in the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The seminar also highlighted the importance of the CA-CaB, developed by SESRIC in 2012 with the aim of increasing human resource capacity in competition authorities operating in the OIC member states.
