The cumulative investments of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Turkmenistan amount to $350 million since the beginning of the its operations in the country, the Azerbaijan-based Trend news agency reported on Sunday citing the EBRD representative Anton Usov.
"The bank's current portfolio in the country stands at $85 million," Usov said.
The EBRD representative added that the European bank is presently studying the possibilities of implementing projects in the banking and municipal sectors of Turkmenistan.
Supporting the development of the private sector is one of the key strategic priorities of the EBRD in Turkmenistan, according to Usov.
The active portfolio of the EBRD for the period by mid-November last year for Turkmenistan amounted to 59 million euros and 34 projects.
