Ahal gas-to-gasoline (GTG) plant opened in June 2019.
Minister of State - Chairman of the Türkmengaz State Concern Batyr Amanov and Managing Executive Officer of the Japanese company Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. Tatsuya Watanabe discussed matters related to the end of the warranty period for an industrial complex in Ahal velayat that produces environmentally friendly synthetic gasoline from natural gas.
The meeting participants discussed the current state and future of cooperation between the Japanese company and Turkmenistan, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in its statemet.
The sides also noted the positive nature of bilateral cooperation and identified new priority areas for enhancing mutually beneficial relations.
This large gas-to-gasoline (GTG) facility, opened in June 2019, is equipped with the latest technology and equipment from the leading manufacturers from the USA, UK, France, Holland, Sweden, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and India.
The plant is designed to annually process 1 billion 785 million cubic meters of natural gas and produce 600 thousand tons of ECO-93 gasoline that meets the EURO-5 standard, as well as diesel fuel and liquefied gas.
In October 2019, Türkmengaz State Concern and Japanese companies Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. and Sojitz Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding to design and build the second phase of the GTG plant in Turkmenistan.
