Ashgabat Hosts Meeting on Operation of Single Window System

The meeting participants discussed the implementation of Single Window for Export-Import Operations project, which is designed for 2021-2023.

The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan last Saturday hosted the first meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission for the Coordination of the Single Window for Export-Import Operations system, which was created by the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan on February 12 of this year.

Experts from the relevant ministries and departments also took part in the meeting, Turkmen State Customs Service said in its Monday press release.

The meeting participants noted that currently, in accordance with the Concept for the Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2019-2025, comprehensive work is being carried out in order to develop a high-tech and competitive digital economy through the widespread introduction of the digital system in the industries.

On January 1, 2020, the integrated customs information system ASYCUDA World was introduced in the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan in cooperation with UNCTAD and the UNDP in Turkmenistan, according to the report. ASYCUDA World will be used as the main platform for the implementation of the Single Window system in the country.

The members of the Interdepartmental Commission also exchanged views on the goals of the Single Window for Export-Import Operations project, which is designed for 2021-2023, and discussed important aspects regarding ensuring its successful implementation.

Following the meeting, the officials identified specific tasks and future actions of the Working Group for the implementation of the project.
