Private farmers in Turkmenistan’s Lebap velayat supplied tomatoes worth $3.443 million to foreign countries in 2020.
Lebap velayat’s 16 private enterprises exported part of their harvested tomatoes to foreign countries last year.
The total amount of the exported crops grown in Turkmenistan’s Lebap velayat reached $3.443 million in 2020, according to the Türkmen Gündogary newspaper’s Thursday issue.
Private farmers in Lebap also supplied mung beans worth $418.5 thousand to foreign markets, the regional newspaper reported. In addition, the enterprises exported crops such as beans, sorghum, millet and clover seeds.
During a government meeting of Turkmenistan on January 29, Vice-Premier Chary Gylyjov noted in his report to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov that the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan plans to implement 88 projects within the framework of the draft Program for increasing the production of food and agricultural products for 2021-2025.
