Turkmen Private Sector Aims to Implement 88 Food Production Projects

The implementation of new projects is expected to increase the volume of exports of food and agricultural products from Turkmenistan.

Deputy Chairman of Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Chary Gylyjov during a government meeting on Friday presented a report to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the measures to prepare a draft Program for increasing the production of food and agricultural products for 2021-2025.

Within the framework of the Program, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan plans to implement 88 projects, which will not only provide the domestic market with high-quality products, but also increase its export volumes, TDH news agency reports.

Following the report, the Head of State noted the significance of the non-state sector of the national economy in ensuring food abundance in the country and steadily increasing its industrial and export potential.

Turkmen President also emphasized the importance of continuing the large-scale work on import substitution, modernization of agriculture sphere, further development of processing industries and increasing the range of competitive products manufactured in Turkmenistan.

Established in 2008, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan unites over 25 thousand businesses working in various sectors of the economy.
