Representatives of the chambers of commerce and industry of Turkmenistan and Portugal during online talks on Sunday discussed the prospects and opportunities for establishing and developing trade and economic relations, Orient news outlet reports.
The Turkmen side included Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Portugal (with residence in Paris) Shohrat Jumayev and Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Dovletgeldi Rejepov, and the Portuguese side consisted of Secretary General of Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP) Joao Pedro Guimaraes and CCIP Director of International Trade Pedro Magalhaes.
The meeting participants discussed the matters of signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries’ chambers of commerce and industry and organizing a webinar with the participation of the countries’ companies operating in the textile sector.
The parties noted that, after the end of the pandemic, Turkmenistan and Portugal are planning to exchange visits of business delegations.
Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan is a non-profit public organization uniting enterprises, organizations regardless of their form of ownership and entrepreneurs operating without forming a legal entity, and is designed to support and protect their interests.
