Turkmen Private Poultry Farm Grows 12.5 Thousand Turkeys

The poultry farm has separate workshops for incubation and keeping poults, growing hens and gobblers, and preparing feed.

Maksada Okgunly Individual Enterprise’s poultry farm in Ahal velayat’s Geoktepe etrap raised 12.5 thousand turkeys, Turkmenistan’s Rysgal newspaper reported on Monday.

The head of the enterprise said the company launched turkey production in 2013. Different types of turkeys are grown at the complex with the necessary observance of the conditions for their growing. The company grows selected species of the birds, ideally adapted to local climatic conditions.

According to the report, the poultry farm operates the poultry houses using digital control system. The system includes 5 measuring instruments that is able to analyze air temperature and humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed, ammonia content, which is necessary for the health of the birds. The temperature in the poultry houses is maintained at 21°C (± 1.5°C -2°C).

The complex covers an area of 23 hectares and is equipped with machinery from the French company Aviagen. The poultry farm has separate workshops for incubation and keeping poults, growing hens and gobblers, and preparing feed. In the past year, sausage workshops were also opened in the complex.

The company’s future plans include carrying out of selection works and development of new local breeds of the turkey.
