According to the Türkmen gündogary newspaper’s Saturday issue, the Management also produced 47,500 tons of gas condensate over the same period.

Natural gas production in the eastern part of Turkmenistan began in the 1960s. During the years of independence of the country, new oil and gas enterprises appeared in the province.

As a result of establishing cooperation with foreign partners, the Italian company Tehnofrigo commissioned the first liquefied gas production facility at the Naip gas field in 1998.

Later, the Canadian company Thermo Design Engineering Ltd, together with Turkmen partners, built modern complex facilities for the production of liquefied gas at the Naip and Bagaja fields. Most of the produced liquefied natural gas goes to export.

The Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline, commisiond in December 2009, also starts in the Lebap velayat.
