Demand For Petroleum Products Grows at Turkmen State Exchange

Businesses based in Russia, the UAE, Turkey, Afghanistan, Panama, Malta and Uzbekistan purchased motor gasoline, blended paraffin slack wax, aviation and lighting kerosene, diesel fuel and polypropylene for foreign currency.

The total amount of transactions concluded in foreign currency at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan over the past week exceeded $48.273 million, Turkmenistan’s Golden Age news outlet reported on Sunday.

For foreign currency, businesses based in the Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Afghanistan, Panama, Malta and Uzbekistan purchased motor gasoline, blended paraffin slack wax, aviation and lighting kerosene, diesel fuel and polypropylene produced at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries. Businesses from Russia and Afghanistan also purchased polyethylene and liquefied gas from Türkmengaz (Turkmen Gas) State Concern.

In addition, companies from Russia, China, the UAE, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan purchased colorless sheet glass, one-colored and jacquard terry products, cotton fabric and yarn, dried roots and rhizomes of licorice for foreign currency.

For manat funds, businesses from Russia, the UAE, Turkey, Scotland, Pakistan and Kazakhstan purchased cotton yarn for nearly 16.8 million manats.

For the domestic market, local businesses bought polypropylene and handmade carpets for a total amount of over 21 million manats.

State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan registered a total of 126 transactions last week.
