Demand For Diesel Fuel Grows at Turkmen State Exchange

Businesses based in the UAE, Malta, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and the UK purchased diesel fuel, aviation and lighting kerosene, liquefied gas and ECO-93 motor gasoline for foreign currency.

The total amount of transactions concluded in foreign currency at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan over the past week exceeded $56 million, Turkmenistan’s Golden Age news outlet reported on Sunday.

For foreign currency, businesses based in the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and the Great Britain purchased diesel fuel, aviation and lighting kerosene, liquefied gas and ECO-93 motor gasoline produced by Türkmengaz (Turkmen Gas) State Concern, hydrotreated diesel fuel produced at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries. Businesses from Turkey bought urea from Türkmensenagat export-import OJSC.

In addition, companies from Russia, the UAE, Turkey, Malta, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan purchased dyed terry products, cotton yarn and fabric, and hand-made carpets for foreign currency.

For manat funds, businesses from Scotland, the UAE, the Virgin Islands, Armenia, and Turkey purchased cotton yarn and local businesses bought Saraja sheep wool. The total amount of transactions exceeded 29.352 million manats.

For the domestic market, local businesses bought motor and base oils produced at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries, high density polyethylene and polypropylene of Türkmengaz SC, hand-made carpets and cotton fiber for a total amount of over 193.146 million manats.

State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan registered a total of 262 transactions last week.
