Turkmenistan Implements Measures to Further Modernize Its Fuel, Energy Complex

In order to fulfill Turkmen President’s instructions for the transition to a digital economy, Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries is taking consistent measures to introduce digital technologies.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting in a video conference format on Tuesday focusing on further development of the country's fuel and energy complex.

According to TDH news agency’s report, deputy chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers and heads of the fuel and energy complex participated in the meeting. In his report, State Minister-Chairman of Türkmengaz (Turkmen Gas) State Concern Batyr Amanov briefed on the activities of the department he heads, practical steps taken to increase production, processing and export volumes of Turkmen natural gas to global markets, as well as the implementation of current projects in this direction.

The Chairman of Türkmengaz reported on the joint activities with foreign partners to develop the Galkynysh gas field and increase the production of natural gas and gas condensate.

In the Ahal velayat, together with foreign specialized structures, the construction of the second stage of a plant for the production of environmentally friendly gasoline from natural gas is underway, Amanov noted in his report.

An international tender has been announced for reducing the cost of polyethylene products at the polymer plant in Kiyanly and develop a project of a isobutane production facility at the plant for reducing the volume of imports.

During the meeting, Head of the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries (TCOR) Dovran Chishiyev reported to the President Berdimuhamedov on the activities to efficiently process hydrocarbon raw materials, increase the production of petroleum products and expand their range.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Myratgeldi Meredov, overseeing the fuel and energy complex, reported on the implementation of the instructions of the Head of State for the development of the oil and gas complex, the introduction of the latest scientific achievements, modern advanced technologies and international experience in the fuel and energy complex, attracting foreign investment, and increasing the production of natural gas and oil, production of processed products.

After listening to the reports, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the importance of further modernization of the domestic fuel and energy complex, its development on a multilateral basis and bringing it in line with the requirements of the times. In this regard, the heads of departments and the Deputy Prime Minister were given specific instructions to attract foreign investment, apply advanced world experience and modern technologies.

The Head of State instructed the Chairman of the Central Bank Merdan Annadurdyev to conduct a technical inventory of the fuel and energy complex enterprises. This measure is aimed at further improving the supply system of the material and technical base of the enterprises of the complex, Turkmen President noted.

Turkmen President also instructed Prosecutor General Batyr Atdayev to analyze the financial and economic indicators of the structures of the fuel and energy complex.
