TULM OJSC is actively engaged in increasing road and rail freight traffic in Turkmenistan.
Multimodal transportation of 45 units of 40-foot containers containing polypropylene along the Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan-China route, organized by the Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan (TULM) Open Joint-Stock Company, kicked off on Wednesday.
TULM told Business Turkmenistan online outlet that the cargo was sent from the Turkmenbashi International Seaport to Kazakhstan’s Aktau port. The cargo will then be sent from Aktau by rail to Ningbo station in China.
At the same time, the TULM dispatched the export cargo, consisting of raw cotton waste, by rail from Tejen Station to Ningbo Station in China. The container train, consisting of 42 40-foot containers, will travel 15-17 days before reaching its final destination.
TULM OJSC is actively engaged in increasing road and rail freight traffic in Turkmenistan. In September-October this year, the company facilitated the road transportion of cargo from the Afghan city of Akina via the Lapis Lazuli corridor and delivery of a cargo from China to Turkmenistan via the North-South railway corridor through Kazakhstan.
Turkmenistan, attaching great importance to transit as a key factor in the development of the national economy, seeks to become an important logistics link in trade between the regions of the continent. TULM aims to make a significant contribution to the realization of the advantages of the country's geographical position through the rational use of transport networks, providing the shortest path and minimum time frames for the passage of goods in international supply chains.
