The cotton harvest in the country started on September 9 and in less than two months, well before the rainy season, it was successfully completed.
Turkmen cotton farmers fulfilled the state order, harvesting 1.25 million tons of raw cotton, Orient news outlet reported on Thursday.
According to the report, this indicator was reached for the first time in cotton production. Previously, the cotton farmers annually sold to the state around 1.1 million tons, with a plan of 1.05 million.
In 2020, for the first time, a decision was made to reduce the land for wheat and increase the cotton plantations. The initiative was successful.
The cotton harvest started on September 9 and in less than two months, well before the rainy season, it was successfully completed. Also, wheat sowing has been successfully completed in the country with wheat being planted on 690 thousand hectares of land for next year's harvest.
Presently, in accordance with the norms of agricultural technology, comprehensive care of wheat crops continues. Along with this, the farmers take necessary measures to collect the remaining cotton.
