Ashgabat City Administration to Privatize Multistorey Car Parks

Turkmenistan takes measures on using the potential of the private sector in all sectors of the economy.

Turkmenistan continues to work on the privatization of state property, transformation of state-owned enterprises into joint stock companies and increasing the share of the private sector in the national economy.

According to the TDH news agency, Deputy Prime Minister Gadyrgeldi Mushshikov during the Thursday meeting of Cabinet of Ministers reported on steps to widely use the potential of the private sector in all sectors of the economy, provide state support for entrepreneurship, and promote the development of small and medium-sized businesses.

In order to fulfill the instructions given earlier by the President of Turkmenistan on the privatization of state property objects through direct (targeted) sale, the Deputy Prime Minister presented a draft of the relevant Resolution.

According to the document, it is proposed to privatize nine multistorey car parks, built and commissioned by the Ashgabat Hyakimlik (Administration), and the poultry complex of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection. The attached list of objects was considered in the prescribed manner at a meeting of the centralized interdepartmental commission under the Ministry of Finance and Economy.

Following the report, the Head of State signed a Resolution on the privatization of car parks of the Ashgabat Hyakimlik and the poultry complex.

Focusing on the importance of continuing activities in this direction, the Turkmen President instructed deputy prime ministers Shamuhammet Durdyliyev and Esenmyrat Orazgeldiyev to keep the implementation of the document under constant control.
