Altyn Gül individual enterprise tests for the first time Marvelance tomatoes, a new variety, in its greenhouse in Turkmenistan’s Lebap velayat.
According to Türkmenistan newspaper’s Thursday issue, the company planted 57,000 seedlings in the 2.5-hectare greenhouse in September. Currently, work is underway to enrich tomatoes with vitamins and weed seedlings.
The newspaper said the stems of Marvelance tomatoes are resistant to external factors, and the variety has huge export potential.
The harvest of the crop is expected to start in the second half of November in the greenhouse.
Altyn Gül’s greenhouse employs around 30 people. The company exports its tomatoes mainly to Kazakhstan and Russia.
