Turkmenistan, UAE to Hold Meeting of Joint Committee on Cooperation

The sides expressed hope that the session will further promote deepening of bilateral relations, particularly in the area of trade, investments, oil and gas sector, energy and construction.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Berdiniyaz Matiyev on Wednesday held a video conference meeting with Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Abdulnasser Jamal Alshaali.

The officials expressed the interest of two countries in expanding the legal base of cooperation, including the further improvement of consular services.

The diplomats considered the collaboration in political-diplomatic area and emphasized the closeness of standpoints in international and regional issues. The parties discussed the constructive cooperation in the framework of international organizations, primarily the UN.

The sides primarily discussed the preparations to the third session of the Joint Committee on Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UAE, including the agenda of the meeting.

The diplomats expressed hope that the session will further promote deepening of bilateral relations, particularly in the area of trade, investments, oil and gas sector, energy, construction, agriculture, environmental protection and food safety, education, science and culture.

The meeting participants paid special attention to the cooperation on countering the contemporary threats and challenges, in particular the COVID-19 pandemic. In this regard, the parties expressed interest in sustaining the contacts between the relevant ministries and departments of the two countries.
