Gokdepe Tannery in Turkmenistan Expands Production

The company plans to launch the production of women's leather bags in the near future.

Gokdepe tannery produced 10.248 million manats worth of leather from cattle skins over the past period of this year, Türkmenistan newspaper reported on Saturday.

According to the director of the plant Hajymyrat Ataballiyev, the produced amount of leather is enough to make 168 thousand pairs of shoes.

The enterprise also produces 6-7 thousand belts a year, intended for military personnel and civilians. The belts are made in a specialized workshop from leather scraps that were previously considered leftovers from the processing process.

In addition, the factory manufactures camel wool blankets. The enterprise presently processes 7-8 thousand tons of wool annually, and in the near future plans to double this figure.

The company also plans to launch the production of women's leather bags. To this end, it is currently studying advanced international experience in this direction.
