Kiyanly Gas Chemical Complex is designed to annually produce 381,000 tons of high density polyethylene and 81,000 tons of polypropylene.
Turkmenistan produced 71.1 thousand tons of polypropylene and 137.4 thousand tons polyethylene over the past seven months of this year, which is respectively 40.5% and 140% more compared to the same period last year, the online newspaper of the Oil and Gas Complex of Turkmenistan reported on Wednesday.
According to the report, such a dynamic growth in production was achieved due to the full production capacity of Kiyanly Gas Chemical Complex in Turkmenistan’s western velayat of Balkan.
The complex presently provides raw materials for such companies for the processing of polyethylene and polypropylene as Türkmen Enjam, Derýaplastik and Eşretli Kenar.
The Kiyanly Gas Chemical Complex was constructed in accordance with a contract among the Türkmengaz State Concern and South Korean companies LG International Corp and Hyundai Engineering Corp, and Japanese TOYO Engineering Corp. The complex was commissioned in October 2018.
The complex’s production capacity allows the processing of 5 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year, which in turn provides for the production of 381,000 tons of high density polyethylene and 81,000 tons of polypropylene and other products.
