The export of aviation kerosene from Turkmenistan to Georgia has nearly doubled since the beginning of 2020, the online newspaper of the Oil and Gas Complex of Turkmenistan reported on Wednesday.
During the first half of this year, 22.9 thousand tons of Turkmen aviation kerosene were delivered to Georgia, comprising almost 80% of all Georgian imports of this fuel.
According to the Union of Oil Product Importers of Georgia, Turkmenistan is also one of the four main suppliers of gasoline and diesel fuel to the Georgian market. In the first half of this year, more than 50 thousand tons of these products were purchased from Turkmenistan, which is nearly 8 thousand tons more compared to the same period of 2019.
In February this year, railway agencies of Georgia and Azerbaijan signed an Agreement on the seasonal transit of oil products from Turkmenistan at reduced tariffs, which will be valid until November.
In 2019, over 360 thousand tons of Turkmen oil and oil products were transported through the Dubendi and Alat oil terminals.
Georgia for the first time this year has also imported A-91 brand gasoline from Turkmenistan.
