Business Circles of Turkmenistan, Russia’s St. Petersburg Discuss Trade Cooperation

Business circles of Turkmenistan and the city of St. Petersburg of the Russian Federation during an online meeting on Tuesday discussed issues of expanding trade and economic relations.

The Turkmen side was represented by the management of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Ministry of Industry and Construction, and other ministries and departments interested in exporting their products to St. Petersburg.

The delegation of St. Petersburg consisted of the management of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, representatives of state structures and subordinate institutions, a number of companies specializing in the field of industry and production of building materials, equipment, electronics, telecommunications and measuring equipment, and in the organization of export and exhibition activities.

The meeting participants discussed priority areas of cooperation in the context of the implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level and existing vast cooperation potential.

The sides emphasized the constructive nature of the contacts established over the past years, the positive experience of cooperation and that its enormous potential create all the prerequisites for expanding bilateral ties.

Representatives of Turkmenistan made virtual presentations of their capabilities in the supply of building materials, textile products, and a wide range of products of private manufacturers.

The Russian side, including Avangard OJSC, the Center for the Development and Support of Entrepreneurship, and other business structures of St. Petersburg that show interest in activities in the Turkmen market, also made export proposals.

The parties spoke in favor of continuing the regular negotiations, which allow specifying the vectors of trade and economic partnership.
