Turkmenistan Increases Oil, Gas Production

Turkmenistan extracted around 30 billion cubic meters of natural gas and exported more than 14 billion cubic meters of it.

Turkmenistan produced more than 746 thousand tons of diesel fuel and 750 thousand tons of gasoline over the first 5 months of this year, which is 70 thousand tons more than in the same period in 2019, the online newspaper of the Oil and Gas Complex of Turkmenistan reported on Tuesday.

The volumes produced not only allow fully satisfying the domestic needs of Turkmenistan, but also partially exporting them.

Investments are being attracted in the country aimed at putting new deposits into commercial development, including in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea, on the right bank of the Amu Darya, and on the giant Galkynysh field.

According to the report, Turkmenistan produced over 4 million tons of oil and gas condensate over the first 5 months of 2020.

In January-May of this year, the country extracted around 30 billion cubic meters of natural gas and exported more than 14 billion cubic meters of it. The country also produced more than 86 thousand tons of liquefied gas, which is 13 thousand tons more than in the same period of 2019.

Turkmenistan’s proven natural gas resources are 50 trillion cubic meters. Given these figure, as of today, the country holds the world’s fourth largest proven natural gas reserves.
