Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation discussed possibilities of increasing mutual trade turnover.
A meeting of Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in a video conference format on Friday, The heads and representatives of major ministries and departments of the two countries attended the session, Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in its statement.
The meeting participants discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation in such fields as trade, finance, banking and oil and gas, the electric power industry, the chemical industry, the transport and communications sector and agriculture.
The sides particularly focused on increasing the volume of trade and expanding its range, stimulating investment activity, and building up productive business contacts.
The parties noted the positive experience of collaboration in the field of healthcare, including in the prevention and response to the infectious diseases taking into account the current COVID-19 pandemic. The officials underlined the timeliness and efficiency of joint actions carried out in this regard.
During the meeting, the Turkmen side was chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and the Russian delegation was chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Government Alexey Overchuk.
Following the meeting, the ceremony of signing bilateral documents took place.
