Turkmenistan’s gross domestic product has grown by 6.2 percent last year.
Turkmenistan increased its exports by 43.6 percent in 2022, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov said in his address to the extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers devoted to the results of last year, the country's official media reports.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov informed that Turkmenistan’s gross domestic product has grown by 6.2 percent last year. Particularly, this indicator equaled 6.3 percent in the industrial sector, 8.9 percent in the trade sector and 5.7 percent in the agricultural sector.
In 2022, the volume of investments to Turkmenistan increased by 14.2 percent and 4 thousand new jobs were created.
Last year, at the expense of all sources of funding 76 production and social objects were opened, the farmers reaped high harvests, which allowed to maintain food security in the domestic market, the Head of State added.
The total area of housing commissioned last year exceeded 1.5 million square meters. As a result, thousands of families, including low-income ones, moved into new houses, according to the speech.
During the meeting the Head of State also approved the Program of Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2023, which is aimed at increasing the country’s GDP by 6.5 percent this year.
