President Berdimuhamedov stressed that the utilization of large volumes of investments since the beginning of the year allowed Turkmenistan to launch new industrial facilities.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, during the online cabinet meeting on Friday, informed that the volume of utilized capital investments in the country realized from all sources of financing in January 2023 totaled more than 2 billion manats, and stated that this is 9.1 percent more compared to the same period last year, the country’s official media reports.
President Berdimuhamedov stressed that the utilization of large volumes of investments since the beginning of the year allowed Turkmenistan to launch new industrial facilities and increase production capacity. This will provide an opportunity to further improve the social and living conditions of the population, as well as to create additional jobs in the provinces, the Head of Turkmenistan added.
In his report on macroeconomic indicators for January of this year, Hojamyrat Geldimyradov, the Deputy Chairman of Government in charge of economic and financial issues, informed that the country’s GDP has grown by 6.2 percent, volume of production compared to the same period last year increased by 5.8 percent. The retail turnover compared to the same period of 2022 increased by 9.5 percent.
The online cabinet meeting on Friday summed up the results of the national economy in January of this year and considered several draft documents and urgent issues of state activities.
