In the first 11 months of this year, Uzbekistan has imported a total of 2.1 million tons of cement for $87.4 million.
Uzbekistan imported 12.7 thousand tons of cement from Turkmenistan in January-November of 2022, UzDaily news outlet reported on Monday, with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
Turkmenistan thus became the fifth largest supplier of cement to the neighboring country.
In the first 11 months of this year, Uzbekistan has imported a total of 2.1 million tons of cement for $87.4 million. The Uzbek State Statistics Committee stated that the volume of cement imports decreased by 420 thousand tons compared to the same period last year.
Besides Turkmenistan, the major suppliers of cement to Uzbekistan in the 11-month period were Tajikistan (903 thousand tons), Kyrgyzstan (623.5 thousand tons), Kazakhstan (558.6 thousand tons), Iran (17.6 thousand tons), China (1.4 thousand tons) and Russia (1.1 thousand tons).
Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover with Turkmenistan in January-November months of 2022 amounted to $858.6 million, an increase of 12.8 percent compared to the same period of last year.
