Ashgabat Hosts Turkmenistan-US Business Forum

The business forum participants discussed activities of the joint business council and its role in strengthening long-term and mutually beneficial economic relations.

A Turkmenistan-US business forum was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan on Monday, the official Turkmen media reports.

The delegation led by Executive Director of the Turkmenistan-US Business Council, Eric Stewart, included representatives of such companies as Bechtel Corporation, Boeing, Niklaus Companies, Climate Compass, Case New Holland, UGT Renewables, John Deere, Medtronic plc, Oxbow, Palo Alto Networks, Smartmatic, Wiza, Westport Trading Europe Ltd.

The business forum participants discussed activities of the joint business council and its role in strengthening long-term and mutually beneficial economic relations.

Speakers emphasized that Turkmenistan is open for constructive cooperation, and welcomed the efforts of the US business circles to strengthen their position in the Turkmen market.

Focusing the great interest of leading US companies in deepening multilateral cooperation, the guests reaffirmed their willingness to participate actively in the implementation of major government programs for the benefit of the Turkmens and the entire Central Asian region, and strengthening peace and confidence in the world.

The event participants discussed opportunities for bilateral cooperation in a number of sectors of the economy and investment, high technology, expansion of trade between Turkmenistan and the US, and outlined specific plans for cooperation in priority areas.

Within the framework of the business forum, representatives of ministries, departments and private companies of Turkmenistan held meetings with the US businesses. The Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and Nicklaus Companies signed a memorandum of understanding on creating a golf club.
