Turkmenistan has sent to Afghanistan, as humanitarian aid, the first batch of environmentally friendly gasoline produced at Ahal GTG plant.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Thursday signed a Resolution to provide humanitarian assistance to the people of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
According to the Resolution, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan are instructed to donate relevant food products to Afghanistan as humanitarian aid.
In the framework of the existing bilateral agreements, Turkmenistan is implementing a number of projects, including the provision of electricity and liquefied gas to the Afghan people on a preferential basis.
The fruitful cooperation between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan is carried out, primarily, in trade, economic, fuel, energy, transport and communications spheres.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan is instructed to ensure the dispatch and organized delivery of the humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan.
On February 20, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Decree, approving the Programme for the provision of humanitarian aid by Turkmenistan in the context of the peaceful development of Afghanistan in 2020-2022.
