Putin Honors Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov With Russian State Award

The meeting took place within the framework of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s friendly visit to Moscow.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin presented Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of Turkmen bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh, with the Order "For Merits to the Fatherland" IV degree in a meeting in Moscow on Thursday, according to the Kremlin press service.

The meeting took place within the framework of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s friendly visit to Moscow.

The Russian President and the Halk Maslakhaty Chairman discussed a wide range of topical issues of the Turkmen-Russian cooperation.

Putin said he is very pleased to see Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in his new capacity, adding that "no matter in what capacity you appear in Russia, you are always welcome, because you have made a great contribution to the development of our bilateral interstate relations. This applies to all areas of activity, both humanitarian and economic."

The Russian Head of State signed a Decree on the awarding Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the order in August this year.

Thanking Putin for the state award, the Halk Maslakhaty Chairman conveyed warm words of greetings and wishes of health from Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Russian President.

The three-day friendly visit of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Russian capital Moscow started on Tuesday.
