Ashgabat, Dublin Mull Opportunities in Trade, Economic Relations

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a telephone conversation with the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland Simon Coveney on Wednesday.
The ministers discussed the key aspects of cooperation in political-diplomatic sphere and touched upon the main issues of regional and international agenda. The sides noted the importance of solidarity of the world community in combating the pandemic.
The officials exchanged views on global economy and outlined the available potential for the expansion of bilateral trade and economic relations. The parties also emphasized the significance of ties in the fields of science and education.
The foreign ministers underlined that the high-level visits serve as a key factor for the intensification of bilateral ties. The diplomats also discussed the mutual support of initiatives of the two countries within the international platforms, including in the UN structures.
The sides said the holding of well-timed political consultations provides a good opportunity for the exchange of views on key vectors of cooperation.
