US Business Delegation Expected to Visit Turkmenistan

The Turkmen side expressed the commitment of the Government of Turkmenistan to expanding trade-economic cooperation with US business structures.

An exchange of views on organization of a visit of a representative US business delegation to Turkmenistan before the end of this year was discussed during the online meeting of the Turkmenistan-US Business Council on Wednesday.

The event discussed key aspects of bilateral trade-economic cooperation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan said in its press release.

The meeting was attended by members of the Turkmen Government, heads of ministries and state agencies of Turkmenistan, Executive Director of the Council Eric Stewart, US Ambassador to Turkmenistan Matthew Klimow and heads of major US companies, including John Deere, Case New Holland, Boeing, Exxon Mobil, General Electric, Coca Cola, Zeppelin, Westport Trading Ltd, Caterpillar, Oxbow and Visa.

The sides stressed the need to diversify the economic partnership between Turkmenistan and the US, with particular focus on investment, financial-banking, agricultural, oil and gas, transport and logistics, and technology sectors.

The Turkmen side expressed the commitment of the Government of Turkmenistan to expanding trade-economic cooperation with US business structures.

The management of the Business Council, noting with satisfaction the practice of a regular productive dialogue, put forward an initiative to submit proposals for new forms and areas of cooperation in the near future.

Within the framework of the Business Council meeting, dozens of online meetings were held between the parties on various areas of Turkmen-American cooperation.
