Turkmenistan attaches great importance to cooperation in transport and communications with Japan.
The expediency of studying the possibilities of organizing flights on the Ashgabat-Tokyo-Ashgabat route was stated during the meeting of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of Turkmen bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh, with the Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida on Wednesday in Tokyo.
The meeting was held within the framework of the visit of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Japan from September 25 to October 1.
The meeting discussed the current state and prospects of development of interstate cooperation, the official Turkmen media reports.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that cooperation with Japan is one of the priority vectors of the foreign policy of Turkmenistan.
The sides agreed that one of the priority areas of the Turkmen-Japanese partnership is the intensification of trade and economic relations. Turkmenistan also attaches great importance to cooperation in transport and communications with Japan, according to the report.
Turkmenistan Airlines started regular flights the Belarussian capital Minsk from October 1.
