Turkmenistan-Georgia Trade Turnover Sees Nearly 56% Increase

The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Georgia in January-February 2022 reached $29 million, a 55.9% increase compared to the same period last year ($18.6 million), the Trend news agency reported on Friday with reference to the National Statistics Office of Georgia.
Georgia's imports from Turkmenistan during the period amounted to $28.2 million, which is 65.8% more than in January-February period of 2021 ($17 million). Georgia's exports to Turkmenistan fell 50.3% compared to January-February 2021, from $1.6 million to $829,970.
Thus, Turkmenistan became Georgia's 21st major trading partner in the first two months of 2022. Georgia’s main trading countries during the period were Turkey ($354.3 million), Russia ($274.6 million) and Azerbaijan ($248.8 million).
The total foreign trade turnover of Georgia in January-February 2022 was $2.5 billion, an increase of 49.2% from the same period in 2021 ($1.6 billion).
