International forum to attract foreign investments into Turkmenistan's oil and gas sector is scheduled for March 29-30 in Ashgabat.

Shahym Abdrakhmanov, the Deputy Chairman of the Government overseeing the country's oil and gas industry, reported on preparations for the forum to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during the online cabinet meeting on Friday.

The Vice-Premier said due to the interest by foreign companies and leading financial institutions in expanding cooperation with Turkmenistan, the forum will be simultaneously held at the National Pavilion of Turkmenistan at the Expo 2020 Dubai via the video link.

Following the report, President Berdimuhamedov said Turkmenistan opens up new opportunities for establishing effective relations in the fuel-energy sector.

Emphasizing the particular importance of the forum today, the Turkmen President gave specific instructions to the Vice-Premier to ensure the high level of organization of the forthcoming events.

Last October, Ashgabat hosted the 26th Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan International Conference, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the country's independence.
