Turkmenistan determined tariffs for container transportation by rail in Turkmenistan from March 1 to May 31, 2022.
The Resolution on authorizing the usage of the tariffs was signed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during a cabinet meeting on Friday to increase the volume of transit cargo transported by rail through Turkmenistan and increase the competitiveness of railroads in international traffic.
Mammethan Chakiyev, the General Director of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers, said in his report that competitive tariffs for container transportation along the China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran route have been determined and appropriate logistical conditions are being created to this end.
In this regard, drafts of the relevant document regulating the introduction of preferential tariffs for transportation of containers have been submitted to the President.
The Turkmen Leader signed the Resolution and gave specific instructions to the Chakiyev, emphasizing the importance of sharing experience and useful innovations with foreign partners and instructing the Director General to follow closely all issues in this sphere.
The cabinet meeting also discussed a number of draft documents and other matters of national importance.
