John Deere proposed to supply construction and agriculture equipment to Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Deputy Chairman of Turkmen Government in charge of economic and financial issues, briefed President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during the online cabinet meeting on Friday.
Based on their analysis, it is proposed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan and John Deere on the development of agriculture and rational water use in the private and business sectors, the Vice-Premier said.
It is also envisaged to gradually attract funds for cooperation in introducing modern technologies, experience exchange, holding seminars, and purchasing of specialized equipment.
In addition, the domestic construction-industrial complex, together with this company, will carry out relevant work to study the supply of John Deere and Wirtgen road construction equipment to Turkmenistan.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov added that in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2019 between the Turkmen Government and John Deere, it is proposed that the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection take joint steps to purchase the next batch of agricultural machinery and equipment through a long-term loan from Deere Credit. This work will be carried out as part of a three-phase effort to transition the Ministry's existing equipment to a telematics digital system in 2019-2022, he added.
Approving the Vice-Premier’s proposals, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said John Deere equipment has proven itself well in the soil and climatic conditions of Turkmenistan and statted that the transition of the technical park of the industry to a telematic digital system will help increase the productivity of the agricultural sector and, in general, optimize agricultural production.
