Deputy Chairman of the Government of Turkmen Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Iranian Minister of Road and Urban Development Rostam Qasemi in a meeting on Saturday in Tehran highlighted 84% rise in the volume of trade between Iran and Turkmenistan in 2021, the Iranian IRNA news agency reports
The talks were held within the framework of the two-day visit of delegation of Turkmenistan to Iran. The Turkmen delegation was led by Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Rostam Qasemi mainly discussed transportation and transit issues.
Focusing on transit of Turkmen products to India and the other countries in the south via Iran, Qasemi said this is beneficial for both countries economically.
Qasemi also made several proposals on expanding transport ties with Turkmenistan.
During the visit to Tehran, the Turkmen delegation also held talks with the Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi and other top government officials of Iran.
