Galkynysh field is one of the raw material sources of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during his working visit to Mary velayat on Monday inspected the progress of works at Galkynysh field, one of the world's largest gas fields.

The Turkmen President got acquainted with the drawings and the approach to solving issues related to the development of gas deposits, the country’s official media reports.

At the site, The Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Natural Gas of the State Concern Türkmengaz reported on the activities to study the rich reserves of hydrocarbon resources and the development of advanced practices of modern science to increase the volume of their processing.

The Chairman of the Türkmengeologiýa (Turkmen Geology) State Corporation briefed on geological exploration works carried out in different parts of the country, on the features of scientific experiences carried out in this area.

Focusing on the promising Günorta (South) Mary block, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said an innovative approach should be applied in drilling gas wells in this area, as in other fields in the country.
