During the meeting with the WIPO head, the Turkmen Minister of Finance and Economy briefed on the work carried out in the country on intellectual property.
The Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) signed an Agreement on Provision of Services. The signing ceremony took place on Tuesday during the online meeting of the Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Muhammetgeldi Serdarov with WIPO Director General Daren Tan, according to the press service of the Turkmen Ministry.
The meeting was also attended by specialists of the Ministry of Finance and Economy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, Serdarov briefed on the work carried out in Turkmenistan on intellectual property and fruitful cooperation with WIPO. In his speech, he stated the importance of signing the Agreement on the establishment of the Center for Support of Technologies and Innovation in Turkmenistan and bilateral cooperation.
The head of WIPO in his speech also stressed the importance of the Agreement on the provision of services adopted by the parties.
Turkmenistan became a member of WIPO in 1991 and is currently a party to 13 out of 26 international documents of the Organization.
