The meeting participants focused on such important elements of the SDGs as decarbonization of energy sector and ensuring universal access to energy supplies, promoting sustainable development of urban and suburban areas.
Delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Minister of Finance and Economy participated in the 7th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development on Wednesday.
The Forum hosted virtually by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) gathered hundreds of officials, experts and specialists from member states and partners of the organization.
The meeting participants focused on such important elements of the SDGs as improving well-being of people, transition to a sustainable economy, creating sustainable food systems and healthy eating patterns.
The sides also focused on achieving decarbonization of energy sector and ensuring universal access to energy supplies, promoting sustainable development of urban and suburban areas, and on protection of global environmental resources.
The participants also expressed their support for a regional dialogue on accelerating the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the Asia-Pacific region by identifying key response measures at the national and regional levels.
